BC has sixteen distinct biogeoclimatic zones. These zones are distinguished through similar biology, geology, and climate. This project aims to capture a diverse selection of natural soundscapes and visuals throughout these zones to communicate the wide range of beautiful landscapes in this province.
About The Project
I’ve lived in British Columbia my whole life and only gotten to visit a small fraction of it’s diverse landscapes. Over the summer of 2025, I aimed to change that.
BC is one of the only places in the world where you can start in a coastal temporate rainforest, travel inland for a few hours, and be in a semi-arid desert. A combination of geographic, geologic and climatic conditions results in differences in the flora and fauna found throughout the province. As a result, these different regions provide unique soundscapes.
This will be the start of an ongoing project as I visit different parts of our beautiful province, British Columbia.
